Springfield Police Officer- Full Time

The City of Springfield, MN is accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Officer opening.

Minimum qualifications: Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree in law enforcement and licensed or eligible to be licensed by the Minnesota P.O.S.T. Board. The city has been working to update its benefits package and recently passed longevity pay for employees with 10 years of service with the city and performance pay allowing the council to approve pay up to 15% above the pay scale for those with significant, valuable, and substantial licenses, certifications, or education above the job requirements. The city offers 12 paid sick days, 12 paid holidays, and 10 vacation days after the first year of employment and covers over 80% of family health insurance and 90% of single health insurance. The city also offers a $600/year contribution to a VEBA with the city's health plan and employees are able to earn an additional $500+ to their VEBA annually by participating in wellness events

2024 Compensation:

Full-Time $28.44 to $36.50 per hour (8-Step Scale), depending on qualifications and experience.

Part-Time $35 per hour for those with 2 years policing experience, $30 per hour with less than 2 years experience.

Lateral Officers are encouraged to apply and may start at a higher pay step.
