About Us

The Springfield Economic Development Authority (EDA) was established in 1988. The EDA has a seven-member board appointed by the City Council. The EDA works to promote economic development for the City. We provide business assistance to new and existing businesses, including business planning and financial packages. We operate a revolving loan fund to help with business start-ups and expansions. EDA projects have included a Business Retention and Expansion program, Area Consumer Survey, Commercial and Housing Re-hab through a Small Cities Grant, and Industrial Park development. For more information on business opportunities in Springfield, contact our EDA Director at (507) 723-3500.
